Get to Know the Winchester Rescue Mission
Since 1973, the Winchester Rescue Mission has been a place of refuge for men, women, and children facing homelessness, hunger, and hardship in our region. Rooted in compassion and faith, their mission is more than just providing food or a place to sleep, it’s about restoring hope and helping individuals build sustainable and transformed lives.
Every person who walks through their doors is welcomed with dignity. Basic needs like meals, clothing, and shelter are met first, creating space for healing to begin. From there, residents work closely with case managers to build out personal goals and overcome barriers such as addiction, unemployment, housing insecurity, or mental and physical health challenges.
In 2024 alone, the Rescue Mission:
- Provided 15,060 nights of shelter
- Served 87,368+ meals
- Helped 36 chronically homeless individuals find housing
- Saw 34 people secure employment
- Partnered with 21 community organizations
- Logged over 15,000 volunteer hours

For July, we’re turning up the impact: For each A/C service or repair this month, we will provide two extra meals at the Winchester Rescue Mission.
